eaDocXâ„¢, Dunstan Thomas and LieberLieber hosted the first ever Enterprise Architect European User Group Event in London on Tuesday 9th October 2012.

The aim of the event was to provide a place for EA users to meet and share experiences, to learn about new developments and discover best practices.  Approximately 40 EA users came along to the Institute of Directors to hear presentations and see demonstrations on:

  • The Future of EA
  • Creating Excellent Documents from EA – by Ian Mitchell of eaDocX
  • Requirements Management – Best of Both Worlds – by Phil Chudley of DT ALM
  • Enterprise Architect in Distributed Environments – by Daniel Siegl of LieberLieber

We were also privileged to hear direct from 2 customers.  They described the way in which EA was being used in their organisations and how they had overcome some of the technical and operational challenges they had faced.  They then used the assembled experience to brainstorm solutions to some of their current ‘opportunities’.

For a fuller report, see the Sparx Community site.

The afternoon concluded with a session in which we polled the attendees on the next steps.  Everyone who attended felt that it had been a really useful and interesting session, and all were enthusiastic to repeat it.

As a result, an independent steering group, made up of volunteers from this first event, is being set up to organise the next one in 2013
